Tonic Board Update

Following the official launch of Tonic@Bankhouse last month, we are delighted to share news about the evolution of Tonic. Following a governance review earlier this year, we advertised for two new Board Members and a Chair of the Board, all of which have now been appointed. Recruitment for the Board positions was carried out by independent recruitment consultant, Anna Jay of Public Leaders Appointments.

Effective immediately, Terry Stacy MBE is joining as Chair of the Board. Terry brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to the role, being a social housing tenant, currently working as Head of the Liberal Democrat Office at the Local Government Association, Vice Chair of the Clarion Housing Association Board and Chair of akt, the national LGBT+ Youth Homeless charity.

Alongside Terry, we are thrilled to announce the appointment of Assiah Awaleh and Michelle Davies as Board Members.

Assiah is currently Head of Housing at Look Ahead Care and Support which focuses on specialist care, support and housing services. She comes with a solid background in operations and service improvement and this appointment marks her first Board placement.

Michelle has recently joined ENEI (Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion) as Service Design & Delivery Director, and brings a wealth of experience from her time working in complex regulated environments in the housing, health, charity and commercial sectors.

Two of our founding Board Members, James Greenshields and Geoff Pine are choosing this moment to step down from their current roles. We’re delighted that both wish to remain a part of Tonic and that they will continue to support us in a voluntary capacity, with a focus on advocacy work, including speaking about our work publicly at conferences and events, and using their skills to enhance our work. We’re incredibly grateful to James and Geoff for their dedication and passion, and we are excited about the additional capacity this will bring to the organisation.

We’re so excited to get working on the next stage of the Tonic journey with a refreshed Board and vision for the future. You can get to know our new Board appointees, including their favourite LGBTQ+ spot in London by reading their profiles here
